so ive been switching to linux right right. well the machine has arrived and ive been able to get most of the required things set up the way that i need them. the awesome window manager my ususal compliment of software copying over config files and what not. its not hard and the only thing that gave me a hickup was using xrandr and that was pretty quickly solved.

the ubuntu team has released ubuntu 8.10 alpha 6 for testing. this will be the final alpha build for intrepid ibex before we see the beta release.
