We all want to get our taste of fame and what better way to do so than to eat at a restaurant owned by a famous chef. In recent years, chefs have become household names across the country. We’re even on a first name basis with some of them, lik...... [Show More]
Last night we dropped by thrillist ’s 3rd anniversary party at a packed club somewhere on Varick St., which we identified a few blocks away based on the hordes of people standing outside waiting to get in. Somehow we slipped the line only to discover that there were hordes of people on the inside too! thrillist is very popular! They also happen to be the folks who flew us to Vegas ...... [Show More]

Ok, so it probably wasn’t the longest line in night club history, but lets just say this: if one thing was made clear from last night’s thrillist Third Anniversary party, it’s that not many people plan on working today. Judging from tequila shot consumption, among other metrics, we feel ...... [Show More]

Since I am all about pre-gaming for my birthday, my friends and I stopped by the thrillist party after the Agency Spy party last night. When we got there, the line outside was almost around the block, but luckily Flavie, thrillist’s wonderful Director of Communications, got us in quickly. It was good to see old friends and a new one, ...... [Show More]

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I’ve been thinking of holiday inspired ingredients such as green beans in butter sauce  and butternut squash  as components for sushi rolls. Apparently, I’m not the only one thinking of Thanksgiving inspired sushi.  Thrill list  discovered this restaurant serving up sushi with a Thanksgiving twist. Takami sushi bar is featuring a sus...... Tonight is the night that late night train service on the Red Line begins in Downtown Los Angeles. Rising to the occasion, LADOT has also extended the hours for DASH service so buses will be in place to support the transit lines. All of this is great news, LA is finally realizing that late night trains are a relatively inexpensive way to bolster business AND make our roads a more safe way to...... [Show More]

only in new york Post Source: thestarlette.net Posted: Nov 20 2008 19:47:46
the Starlette is back from a quick trip back home to NYC. Being away from the city certainly makes you appreciate the chaos, noise, crowds but maybe not the cold. I’ve been in 80+ degree weather for 2 months so switching to 37º was an assault to the senses. Ah, but how lovely to sit down to a relaxed lunch at Bar Pitti , one of my favorite Italian restaurants downtown. It’s hard, act...... [Show More]

There’s a good bet the perky trademark lawyers at I (heart) NY won’t let this live for long, but for now you can now get the latest sign-o-the-times riff on the NY state tourism slogan.
“I Can’t Afford to (heart) NY” T-Shirts are now only $14.99 each.
(Thanks to Nichelle Stephens for the tip to thrillist on this find.)

THE BLUEPRINT RETOX
Tonight the girls and I headed, well…I wasn’t exactly sure, so I jumped in a cab. Apotheke is the name, cool is it’s game. The lovely ladies of BluePrint (Erica and Zoe) were having a little party at this swanky spot to celebrate all of the cleansing they have done for Manhattanites.Â
The bar and the crowd is too cool for school. A hidden treasure, th...... [Show More]
Apotheke
The cozy venue is designed after old French apothecaries.  One glance at the bar, you’ll see why. There are jars of fruits and herbs soaking in liquor and absinthe awaiting use in one of their many cocktail combinations.Â
Yes, you heard me absinthe. Apparently there is an absinthe specialist who is the only one allowed to make drinks with it, and he doesn’t get there un...... [Show More]
Yeah, I smelled that reaction a mile away. Yikes.
I did notice Ted from Queer Eye enjoying a martini across the bar so I wouldn’t discredit their recipes altogether.
Should I be in Chinatown again, I will definitely hit up Apotheke again....... [Show More]
THESE watches from Tokyoflash have landed hard on our holiday wishlist. Hailing from the land of the rising sun, these one of a kind watches are not conventional in the least foregoing traditional faceplates for challenging new ways to tell time.
Take for example the INFECTION with tri-colored LEDs that pulsage. Twelve red LEDs indicate hours, eleven yellow LEDs represent the progression of time...... [Show More]
at vermilion Post Source: swipelife.com Posted: Nov 18 2008 22:27:17
At Vermilion is a new Indian-Latin restaurant in the Lexington- and-40R 17;s area of New York. A branch of the critically -acclaimed Chicago restaurant of the same name, this new dining spot is sure to be a must try for anyone into Indian-Fusion cuisine. The minimalist aesthetics of the place is inspired by muted hues of black, white, and gray for the most part. Photographs of Indian fashion and d...... [Show More]

The street wear world is often filled with iconography from pop culture, hip-hop and sports. Since the cultural capital is being sucked dry from these reference points, it’s good to see a company dipping into other pots for graphic inspiration. thrillist Chicago featured Postcard.fm today.Â
I was interviewed for this yesterday. This left me excited because I enjoy when our stuff is featured in thrillist. The article didn’t include my very poorly made joke about creating postcard.fm  to make women happy. That’s probably a good thing, since thrillist is ultimately a male-centric newsletter. ...... Trendy men’s newsletter thrillist has already shown its penchant for giving the middle finger to all things recession-related, whether it be chartering party planes or throwing ’90s-dot-com bubble-theme parties (granted, both of those stunts preceded the Wall Street meltdown by a few months). But the New York-based start-up may …...... [Show More]
