I missed it again. What with the move to b5 and all sorts of other things going on, the deadline went right past me. What’s up with that?

What’s your favorite cocktail? Gin and tonic? Rum and cola? Vodka and fruit juice? Sure, these classics are great, but perhaps your mixology menu could use a refresher. Have a taste of Shochu.
Shochu, a restaurant bar in Lakeview (formerly Platiyo , three doors north of Andalous ), is named after a popular beverage in Japan . The alcohol is low in calories (15-20 in one ounce...... [Show More]

For months before coming to Japan I read blogs of ex-pats living here to give me some insight into what the experience might be like. Since arriving, I have become involved in a small online community of ex-pat bloggers. I have now ‘met’ and communicated with many of those bloggers I used to read and it’s been both fun and a great support. One of those bloggers is Shane (of...... [Show More]

I arrived in Tokyo on a rainy March night with way too much luggage and no Japanese language skills to speak of. My great uncles old host student met me at the airport- and she was the only person I knew in Tokyo- although It was technically my first time meeting her. She was kind enough to come to the airport and show me the way to my new home- my Japanese university dorm in Kichijoji.
The bus ...... [Show More]
Here is my entry for the Japan Blog Matsuri
I don’t usually blog about my personal experiences in japan so this is kind of new for me. The good thing about that is I can put all my effort and creative release into this one post. And if it is really good then I can retire from personal blogging, as the champion, at the top of my game. And, more likely, if it is really bad, well I can use ...... [Show More]

The Tokyo Traveler reports that a Japanese company aired a commercial spoofing the Obama campaign (yes, they watch our news). The only problem, they portrayed Obama as a monkey. Obviously, the racism is evident.
