The Parasite That Reveals Good News From Africa
by Johann Hari
And now for the great news - from Africa. Yes, I know that seems like a perverse opener, with Robert Mugabe perpetuating his oozing Alzheimocracy, a looming famine in Ethiopia, and international peacekeepers failing to prevent genocidal massacres in Darfur. The cynics who jeer that Africa is a black hole for help feel they have the wind of no change at their back. But some time next year - or soon after - a beautiful moment in the history of humanity will come to pass on the Western shores of Africa. An excruciatingly painful disease that has stalked humans for millennia will end - forever.

Nice to have a forum like this where the dark matter thrives. I am from Tanzania (in Africa) and would like to let you know that anyone who needs a helping hand from Africa is welcome.
If you got any online stuff that can get you in trouble in your country contact me. Here in Tanzania laws are a bit relaxed, and blackhat stuff can flying right through the radar without raising any alarm.

I have no general animus against peer review, and fields such as Global Warming I would tend to applaud the system of interactive checks by scientists.
But, I fear, that just doesn’t work in evolutionary theory. There is no standard of science by which to measure a theory of evolution, for the simple reason that noone has a good one. You can adopt Darwin’s inadequate theory, and make it standard, and then cond... more Hucklebird, get to work on The Parallax ViewFrom: darwiniana.com Post Date: 2007-12-07 15:08:50 Hucklebird, you are the Hegelian triad expert, check out Zizek ’s book for me. I fear you are a mystic reactionary, otherwise, ‘dialectical materialism’ might be just your stomping grounds, all those triads getting us past Kantian dualisms, and driving evolution in nature.

After yesterday’s post on Marxism:

I came across Zizek’s work, The Parallax View.
I have to admit I picked up this book with a sour attitude, in no mood for any more Marxist bullshit, hence I am unlikely to consider it fairly. Actually, the book is morbidly interesting in its type, ... more Islam’s Silent ModeratesFrom: darwiniana.com Post Date: 2007-12-07 14:03:48 Islam’s Silent Moderates
