An article originally reported on MarketWatch entitled Got Business Income? and posted on Startup Journal offers sound advice for Schedule C filers. Essentially, it says; don't look now but, the IRS is keeping closer tabs on small and unincorporated businesses. The author, Andrea Coombes, does call our attention to available deductions, smart tax planning and good record keeping.
My advice; follow the rules of the game and you'll be much less likely to be subject to an audit -- because no one at the IRS likes a tax cheat.
