The last time there was a credit squeeze and interest rates went up the profitability of banks went down. Which is a fairly basic supply and demand issue. However this time because of a global credit squeeze Australian companies are having to borrow from local banks as they can no longer access overseas funds. Does this mean in this credit squeeze that the banks will retain their profitability. Any thoughts? I am tempted to buy some but so far I am watching and waiting.

Should I be looking for positions in equities???
I have a few 1000 ounces of physical and a couple of thousand in paper.
I feel the time has come to look for some companies to play silver leverage.
But I also recon a major correction is coming and due to the ludicrous leverage in the market that the baby will get thrown out with the bath....
I am also wondering if traders are so busy/lazy that they will play bullion rather than learn about a whole new ball game...

Have been looking at some oversold financials recently and have settled on KBC and bought today as the co. is trading on a large discount to its book value of $1.55 per share-shares currently 92c
Keybridge Capital Limited (KBC) announced an 80% increase in net profit after tax on the previous half year to $7.16 million for the six months ended 31 December 2007. The company confirmed its full year NPAT guidance of at least $20 million, in line with previous estimates.
