Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Go ahead; tell me what an incredible intellectual genius and fabulously well-liked person William F. Buckley, Jr., was. Repeat it time and again. before, during and after you waterboard me; say it in prose or say it in verse; say in Ovidius’ classical Latin or in low brow Jerome’s Vulgate; force it as invocation before every meal while I’m your guest at Guantanamo; herald it, if you must, as the empire’s political and literary edict to cleanse any liberal curses with pat... more

At 8:50AM on February 27, an Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at a civilian microbus on the coastal road near Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip. Six members of the Izziddin al-Qassam Brigades were in it at the time. Five of them were killed. The sixth one was seriously injured. Twenty minutes later, another aircraft attacked a vehicle in which other Izziddin al-Qassam Brigades members were traveling. They escaped harm by fleeing before missiles struck their car and destroyed it. On... more

Recently I heard Anthony H. Cordesman on Washington Journal (Week Ending Sunday 17th of February, 2008).  He was a guest representing the Center for Strategic International Studies (CSIS).  His presentation was that he is a Non-Partisan critic of the Bush Administration.  As the interview progressed, Cordesman seemed to favor the Bush Administration and its actions regarding Iraq.  He admitted mistakes in the "conduct" of the war but was basically a spokesman for the need to... more

One of my friends has a son who volunteered to go to war. The son’s father, a democrat, and, of course, no fan of the president, has been a decided critic of the war. In talking with him the other day, he told me that, like any other father, he loves his son very much, but believes that his son made a terrible mistake by choosing to go to war. He informed me that he had done absolutely everything in his power to dissuade his son from joining the military, but no matter what he said, his s... more
