The company revealed in the latest issue of Shonen Jump magazine that it’s developing a new installment in its Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series of games. The latest issue of Famitsu reveals a new Square Enix title called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. The game will be playable via the Nintendo DS & Wii, with both game versions having extensive online features. The story will revolve around a person called Charlotta, and an elusive crystal. I’ve touched on the idea that there’s two "Square Enix" companies out there, and this is another perfect example of that. On one hand, you’ve got the Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, The World Ends With You publisher mentality, where the company is aggressively remaking classic games, pushing original content, and cleaning up because of it.... more
