As we mentioned earlier this month , reports state that the next Batman movie will feature the Riddler as the main villain.
Jim Carrey did a good job playing the last Riddler in 1995. So, who would likely take his place?
Well, some reports claim that Johnny Depp is being offered the role.
And with the success The Dark Knight has has had at the box office, making over $440 million worldwide, the producers don’t think they’ll have a problem convincing Depp to take the role.
A source says the producers "are convinced that the role of the Riddler is perfect for Depp. Johnny’s a pro. He’ll be able to take direction from director Chris Nolan and still make the character his own."
They also plan on revisiting another one of Batman’s enemies, the Penguin. And according to insiders, they are hoping the role goes to Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Depp and Hoffman?
Two excellent choices, we think.
