The folks who compared the Springfield City Council to Hitler are back again. This from the News-Leader : The “preliminary opening” of a homeless veterans center in the old Social Security building at 806 N. Jefferson Ave. will be announced by the Rev. Larry Rice at 11 a.m. Monday. Rice and members of the advisory board for the New Life Evangelistic Center Homeless Veterans Center will talk about plans for the center on Monday, according to a news release from the organization. Hours of operation, services to be offered and long-range plans for the center will be discussed. Let’s hope that they have actually addressed the concerns of the community and aren’t just flipping the finger to the citizens.  In the previous go-rounds with citizens and Council NLEC has done nothing to address the citizen’s concerns and were often very contentious with anyone who dared to challenge the desires of NLEC. State Auditor Finds Child Support Totals Frequently Inaccurate

One of the interesting things I found on the Missouri State Auditor website was a report that the Department of Family Services’ totals regarding the amounts owed for child support are “ often inaccurate .”  In 79 of 244 cases that were reviewed, the auditor found overstatements from $1 to $455,000 and understatements from $10 to $55,000.  (That 79 of 244 is 32% of the cases.)
