In case you hadn’t heard, there is more trouble and controversy going on at RPI this week. Iowa Defense Alliance , Hawkeye GOP , Flyover , and IDA (again) have all already touched on this. I happened to be listening to Deace last night when Christopher Reed came on to discuss what was going on. Long story short, Reed said he had had several people report to him that Republican Party of Iowa Executive Director Caleb Hunter was recently at a public function and told the GOP faithful in attendance that they shouldn’t bother “supporting” Reed, and that their efforts were better spent on trying to win back the Iowa House. There have been whispers for a long time from Reed supporters wondering why the state party was not doing more to help Reed. I think there are a couple reasons for this. 1. Reed beat Eichhorn in the primary. Eichhorn was definitely the “insider” candidate with more ties to party leadership, and I’m sure they weren’t too happy ...

Iowa House Democrats go on record for supporting Gay Marriage Now, we all know that Speaker of the Iowa House Patrick Murphy is not the brightest bulb in the Statehouse chandelier, but what the heck was he thinking yesterday? Chet get elected! Chet popular! Nothing like a little Chet Not Stupid jargon to get the day started. But according to the most recent Survey USA poll, 49% of those surveyed disapprove of the job Chet Culver is doing as governor, 48% approve. It is very clear that the honeymoon was short lived, and numbers like these should have potential Republican gubernatorial candidates climbing all over each other ...

Post Date: 2008-03-10 07:58:26
By Emily Geiger So, I see there are a lot of bloggers who are essentially calling Steve King a quack over his comments that islamofascists would likely be happy if Barack Obama were to be elected president. But why are these liberal bloggers so upset about King’s statement? Obama has said he would sit down and talk to these types of radical people around the world, so why wouldn’t they be happy if he is elected president? And why wouldn’t liberals be happy that Obama w...
