Readers who own an S60 handset from Nokia may or may not have heard of an application that Nokia has has done a fairly good job of keeping relatively hush. One of the biggest complaints S60 users have in general is the lackluster email client and less-than-reliable performance that comes along with it. There are plenty of third-party options out there of course, but none that is truly optimal and geared specifically for personal use. Nokia Email is Nokia’s first attempt at just that; a premium email client geared toward personal use as opposed to enterprise. * Nokia Email goes live on Nokia Beta Labs tomorrow
* Nokia Email will be a pay service once it exits beta; cost will be integrated into carrier data plans
* Users not on a carrier with whom Nokia has an agreement will ...

Fresh out of Nokia Beta Labs comes Friend View , an experimental location and micro-blogging service which works both on mobile phones as well as on the web.
To show your location, the Friend View application is using the built-in GPS or the network if there is no signal available (you can also set your location manually). When you turn on Friend View, it locates you as an avatar on a map and shows you all your friends as well. Whenever you send a micro-message, it appears as a word ballo... more

Shortly after the N95 8GB NAM made a surprise appearance on a Nokia mobile site, it’s now looking like we could see the US 3G variant of Nokia’s flagship Nseries device as soon as the middle of February! Mobile City Online has the black beauty listed for preorder at $800 and the published arrival date is February 15, 2008. Sweet! If history repeats itself, MCO will push their expected arrival date back several times before actually receiving the device. Then again, they’re also ra... more
Samsung’s new P720 and F490 handsets already made themselves known at a recent press event in the Ukraine but, given that we unfortunately couldn’t make the trek there ourselves, we didn’t exactly get that great a look at ‘em. Now thanks to the folks at Mobile-Notes, however, we’ve got some better pics of each of the handsets, along with a video that shows them off from every angle (check it out after the break). In case you missed the original annou... more
In the process of spelunking through Danger’s latest software development kit for the Sidekick, one enterprising developer discovered a handful of dormant functions for controlling video playback. That got us to thinking: on the Sidekick LX’s glorious widescreen display, isn’t video support a totally obvious feature? Can’t you just imagine perusing YouTube clip after YouTube clip — or better yet, dropping a movie on the microSD card? We’re being told t... more
The latest gossip on the Macworld 2008 is that Apple will announce sales of 5 million iPhones. Apparently Europe has contributed one million to the sales figure. Apple is expecting to sell a lot of iPhones during this holiday season despite AT&T’s announcement that a 3G iPhone will be hitting in 2008 (May-June) that could’ve hindered the demand. Like we mentioned before, the other rumors speculate a 16GB iPhone upgrade announcement as well.
