Looks like it’s not going to be any merger between Digg and Google because according to rumors Digg was notified on Tuesday or Friday that Google was not longer interested.
According to TechCrunch Google was in the due diligence stage of the deal, where they “digg” deep into Digg’s technology and financial records, when they aborted the deal….. I wounder what they found that made them turn down this deal. Personally I wouldn’t pay anything for Digg due to the rumors about auto-burying of sertain articles and also their other problems .
TechCrunch is writing:
Two sources close to the companies suggested that some issue that came up during technical due diligence was to blame. One source said that the issue was more personality driven, and that Google decided after spending more time with Digg’s top team that there just wasn’t a fit.

I was just reading an article on TechCrunch about how New York-based advertising firm MediaWhiz has launched a new product today called InLinks for advertisers who want their sites associated with specific keywords. Those words, when they appear in content, will turn into links to the advertisers’ sites. Basically, they are selling “Google juice”.
