New news in Kansas wind development (Hays Daily News ) . Six very wind-rich Kansas counties are talking about grouping together in some sort of compact to promote wind development (Trego, Wallace, Sherman, Thomas, Gove and Logan). In part, their approach will be to develop and control the infrastructure needed to get wind resources to market.
Imagine if during the last century, farmers’ co-ops had been able to build and control at least some of the railroads. Pretty cool, huh? Wind is a new resource, with new development patterns, and new social and economic organizations have the chance evolve as a result. Built on old ones, of course.

this video entertained me. No bells and whistles. Nothing cute. Just a farmer squinting at a video and answering questions that some member of the liberal media was asking him (joke! I have no idea who was interviewing him) about his wind turbines. Pretty straightforward guy. Pretty friendly, pat questions. Still a good video.

The article is not clear on exactly what ongoing applications are affected by the suspension...

Surprise bonus! MH decided to attend the hearing on the KCPL bill (HB 2362) before the Senate Committee on Energy and Utilities, which begins at 9:30 a.m. Add this to the House Select Committee hearing at 1:30, and we are going to have a day full of fun.
We await the committee. Actually, every time I say that - imagine the scene. The conference room is slowly filling full of lobbyists, reporters, etc. People either laugh loudly or talk quietly. We wait… we wait… groups c...
