Meaning Vs. Comedy

On the 30th of this month I’ll be joining other performers from the D’Merde at the AC/VC show . I don’t believe I’m supposed to be reading anything, but just in case I’m working on a new story. I also want to generate some more material for the (hopelly soon) next show I’m doing.  As always I’m trying to write some different kind of stories, and this time I’m trying to write something that has both a little meaning and a little comedy to it. Usually my stories are pretty straight forward, generated by a single joke or funny situation I’m trying to create that continues to make me laugh all the time. Very rarely do they come from something I feel very passionate about. Trying a new approach that focuses on issues brings up an odd two-sided battle in my head between comedy and content.
