Sununu on Sununu : While average global temperatures have increased by one degree over the last century, it is difficult to determine how much of this increase is due to human influence. Seriously, who is there left who holds this view? And how did we get to the nightmare scenario that this fringe thinking could direct the policy agenda of our next Vice President and Senator? 6:00am The Endless Primary. Clinton had a good night, winning Ohio and squeaking by in the Texas primary despite being outspent.  She gained some critical ground in the final days before, working the refs hard with the press and throwing out the fear card with the 3am ad, while Obama was dragged down by the Canada flap (still mysterious to me - that story isn’t over yet). This will give her the momentum and energy and horserace press to go on all the way to (at least)... more

(In its own diary on Dean’s suggestion) I have been a huge fan of Jeanne Shaheen ever since I met her when I was 10 years old. I met her outside my relatives restaurant, the Merrimack, in Manchester at a Bill Clinton rally in 1996. The Franklin Pierce Democrats got to host Gov. Shaheen on monday for a question and answer session. And coming to such a small college is always a risk for an event like this, students may not know who she is, they can’t vote for h... more

The DNC Doctor is in (from an linkless email, sorry), and he’s got no intention of messing with the pre-existing rules regarding Michigan and Florida (boldface mine): "We’re glad to hear that the Governors of Michigan and Florida are willing to lend their weight to help resolve this issue.  As we’ve said all along, we strongly encourage the Michigan and Florida state parties to follow the rules, so today’s public overtures are good news. The rules, wh... more
