The International Monetary Fund has endorsed a plan of action put forward by G7 representatives to tackle the global financial crisis.
Condoleezza Rice, George Bush and Henry Paulson meet with G7 finance ministers
The lending institution said in a statement after a day-long meeting that it has given full support to the action plan approved on Friday by the wealthy nations.
Charting a course out of the crisis called for “exceptional vigilance, coordination, and readiness to take bold action,” said the 24-member steering committee.

The proposed legislation would disburse the $700 billion in stages. The first $250 billion would be issued when the legislation is enacted while another $100 billion could be spent if the president decided it was needed.
