Imagine a political convention, only with more Aerosmith tunes — yes, it’s ‘American Idols Live!’
After a long, hard-fought campaign, the victorious candidate stood onstage Thursday night in a crowded arena to stake his claim to the most powerful job in the free world. Well, more or less.
I’m talking, of course, about David Cook, our latest “American Idol.”
Joining the 25-year-old singer from Blue Springs, Mo., for the convention — er, concert — at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center were nine other top finalists from the seventh season of the smash television series.

Jason Castro’s little vids featuring him and his family crack me up. I think his sister Jackie is going to be a star! In the current installment, Jason and fam are riding in the car looking at coverage of his homecoming in a local newspaper. His fans bought a big ad congratulating him, and Jason thanks them.
Also, Jason says that he’s flying to LA today. Tour rehearsals start on Monday.

This week’s Idol Billboard Update , at a much more reasonable length!
The only Season 7 singles that remain on this week’s chart are the iTunes downloads that were released on the day after the finale. By next week, the performance singles, which are no longer available, will be off the chart as well. The only Season 7 single left to track will be David Cook’s “Time of My Life”, and by the looks of it, the Magic Rainbow won’t be disappearing any time so...
