The folks behind HiDef Conferencing have created a plugin for Microsoft Outlook, making it easier to schedule meetings using your HiDef Conferencing.
With this plugin installed, two new buttons appear in your Outlook: "Manage HiDef Account" which simply opens a web browser window where you can manage your account, and "Schedule HiDef Conference" which lets you set up a calendar invite where the details of the HiDef Conferencing bridge is entered automatically.

This week, I have been contacted by two different IP PBX vendors to review their products: TalkSwitch and thirdlane . Ok, maybe this data point is meaningless, but it's not like I hear from IP PBX vendors every day asking my opinion. Maybe this little trade show called VON.x on the 17th - 20 of March in San Jose, CA has something to do with it.
Maybe it's just me, but IP PBXes seem to share one trait with many VoIP PSTN replacement services: they pretty much do the same thing...

Phil Wolff over at Skype Journal details something I've noticed happening to me a lot lately: to get my attention. I get "friend requests" and "chat messages" from these people. I, of course, block the contact and ignore them.
I've been in the computer industry long enough to know better. These aren't pretty women and men wanting to talk to me. It's a shyster trying to get me to install malware-ladden software on my computer, convince me to pay for pornography, or who knows...
