A couple of weeks ago I posted a series of comments made by Republican commentators and politicians questioning John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin for his running mate. While both Republicans and non-Repulbicans have been questioning Palin’s qualifications, when it comes to McCain they are primarily concerned about his volatile temper and his lack of impulse control, as the comments below (all made by conservatives) verify.
"His temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him." Former New Hampshire Republican Senator Bob Smith.

Since my state is a lock for McCain I have the luxury of voting third party. However I will admit that if I lived in a swing state I’d have voted for McCain solely to help preserve divided government. Although if the GOP had control of ( and was expected to keep control of) either the house or the Senate I’d have probably voted for Obama.... more

If you go through and add it up, leaving aside Minnesota's undecided 1.7 percent for now, only about 49.8 percent of the nearly 306 million people in the United States live in a state where there's even one Republican Senator. Only 24.4 percent live in a state where both seats are held by Republicans.

I’ve always respected John McCain. Although I understand that campaigning candidates tend to adapt their talking points to please their base of support, my respect for McCain wavered as he flip flopped on issues during the presidential nomination campaign.
