I made a post promoting last night’s Missouri State Football game because all the buzz I had heard from those around the campus was telling me the team had a chance for a decent year.  Then the team goes out and gets knocked off 35-27 by the Division II Washburn Ichabods. Coach Terry Allen said to the Springfield News-Leader “That’s the poorest coached Missouri State football team that I’ve been involved with in the three years that I’ve been here.” The team had 9 penalties for 99 yards, two interceptions and a host of mistakes on special teams and defensive coverage. As long as I’ve been in the Ozarks, MSU (then SMSU) football has always been considered below par by those I’ve talked to about it.   People I would ask about MSU football would tell me to wait until basketball season and go see the basketball Bears play if I wanted to go in thinking the Bears had a chance to win. City Utilities is having a meeting on raising your natural gas rates. The Citizens Advisory Council of City Utilities of Springfield is having a public hearing on Thursday at 3:30 in the C. This just in from the city:        The City of Springfield will extend its operating hours and fee waiver for residential ice storm brush and limb debris at the Yardwaste Recycling Center through Sunday, March 30, 2008. The YRC will accept ice storm brush and limb debris from Springfield-Greene County residents with a waiver of the normal drop-off fee for residential customers. I was watching an episode of The Fairly Oddparents that was on my DVR (because my kids like them) and it was an episode where Timmy’s mom becomes a local meteorologist and can therefore have magic to control the weather.
