Flickup is one of those apps which you need from time to time (or constantly for avid photo takers) and just don’t understand why it takes a third-party to make it — why on Earth Flickr haven’t made an app to do this is beyond me. Since “it is what it is,” smart developers are using this to their advantage.
Anyway, with Flickup you can upload full, 2 megapixel pics to Flickr directly from your iPhone. Best of all, if you own the iPhone 3G, the application will also include the GPS data with the upload. To be fair, Flickup won’t include the data where the pic is taken — rather, it will rely on the place from where the image is uploaded. Still, if you snap a pic and upload it immediately (and why shouldn’t with an unlimited data plan), that’s about it. Apparently this is done this way due to some limitations in the Apple iPhone APIs.

This was fast. About three weeks ago we wrote about it and now it's finished. I'm talking about Nokia acquiring Plazes, a privately-owned start-up company of 13 people with its principal operations in Berlin.
According to the official release, by acquiring Plazes, Nokia will be able to “extend its context-based service offering with social presence and time-based activity planning features.”
Or to put it in other words, integrate it into Ovi. Can't wait to see how...
