Good morning ...
This particular post is of great interest to me, because I have become soooooo interested in finding (and quite successfully at that) free online music, that I had to do a post on the subject. Outside of a small list of artists I support, I rarely buy CDs anymore. Couple that with the fact that most of the artists/genres I like to listen to have to order online because they aren’t readily available in the record stores.

In this day and age of automated everything, one of my petpeeves is having to take to an automated menu when needing customer service. I know it cuts cost for the business, etc...but...human interaction is not dead...especially when it comes to conducting business. Often times if I have to use 411, I wait a few seconds after the initial voice comes on and press the * key to get a real operator (heh). It seems to work everytime.

Recently I was gettting on the elevator to go to my office. As I was about to step on, I made eye contact with a gentleman who was headed toward the lobby. Eye contact was returned, and upon noticing that, I spoke, but the gesture was not returned. While I was not taken aback (growing up in the North, the self proclaimed city boy that I am), I began to wonder why it so much different (still) with respect to hospitality in these two different geographic regions.
