WHERE ARE OUR GEORGIA SENATORS ON THE FACT THAT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR E-VERIFY IS DUE TO EXPIRE IN NOVEMBER? I don’t know either, and the silence is deafening. Let’s find out. Today. (Info for DIS supporters outside of Georgia at the bottom of this alert) As I hope everyone understands, the NO COST federal E-Verify system is a Web based data base that all employers in the United States can use to verify employment eligibility of newly hired employees. The system, authorized in 1996 is voluntary and has been constantly improved over the years and is deemed to be 99.5% effective in verifying employment eligibility. ( DO NOT CONFUSE E-VERIFY WITH THE ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS FOR PUBLIC BENEFITS VERIFICATION IN THE SAVE PROGRAM – E-VERIFY IS FOR EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION ONLY). From DHS: “Currently, 99.5 percent of all work-authorized employees queried through E-Verify were verified without receiving a Tentative Non-confirmation (TNC)...
