The Detroit Tigers on Thursday added five minor league prospects to the 40-man roster by buying their minor league contracts. The move blocks the prospects from selection in the Rule 5 draft at next month’s baseball meetings in Las Vegas.

A friend of my recently went to Las Vegas for a one-week vacation and also in celebration of her girlfriend’s 40th birthday. They really got a good package deal with airfare and hotel accommodation for around $500 each. When I heard about this, I am motivated to see Las Vegas one more time.
