An interesting story today in the Springfield News-Leader regarding a decision by Prosecutor Darrell Moore to drop six drug charges against Andrew Carlstrom , the brother of one of Moore’s assistants, Emily.  Each of the six Class B felonies for drug distribution (he sold pot to an undercover cop six times) could have carried up to 15 years in prison but according to local attorneys would have likely resulted in probation because it was a first offense.
Carlstrom pleaded guilty to a charge of possession with intent to distribute and his case was sent to Greene County drug court where if he successfully completes the program the charge will be virtually gone.

State Auditor Finds Child Support Totals Frequently InaccurateFrom: lifeofjason.com

One of the interesting things I found on the Missouri State Auditor website was a report that the Department of Family Services’ totals regarding the amounts owed for child support are “ often inaccurate .” In 79 of 244 cases that were reviewed, the auditor found overstatements from $1 to $455,000 and understatements from $10 to $55,000. (That 79 of 244 is 32% of the cases.)
