Had a new idea today, slapped it down, thought I’d throw it out for comments. Calling it "Realistic" , done with the 84 Gibson V, Yamaha Bass, and Hydrogen drums. Just for fun, I quad-tracked the guitar part, twice with a tweaked Spinal Puppet (one bridge and one neck) and twice with an approximated Nevermore "DHIADW" Dual Rec (also one bridge, one neck), all panned to try and balance the tones; then I copied the bass part (a mistake, I hear that now) and panned them out a bit, and did the same with the drum track. The drum track’s not so bad, I may play with that in the future. Re-did "Pride" , this time in E standard (was in D, but it’s actually a lot easier to play in E, and sounds better to my ears). This is only two guitars (both w/ the Spinal patch), one bass track, and one drum track, no EQ’ing at all. Other than changing ...

So i had just got my killswitch going on in my Hellraiser, and i was thinking about doing it to my loomis. Problem is, i only have 1 vol. and 1 pickup selection (no tone or anything). So is it possible to wire a push/pull so pushed in (normal) its on bridge and pulled its on neck, with a killswitch where the pickup selector currently is? If so, can someone provide a diagram? ... more

I recently had a blackstar hd-distx filth pedal, and it got great maideneque tones, but i returned it because im looking for a serious thrash/death pedal that kicks some ass. My amp is a raven rg60 with a 12 incher Im using a gibson faded sg with stock pickups and 12-56 strings the amp has good hard rock tones but just cant do metal. i love every thing about my RG except for the trem, i hate it. So I went to the local store (ken stanton music, great if you are in the ATL area) and got a list of guitars I could trade it in for. not very many caught my eye except the apex 2. i am without a 7 since i sold my C7HR for a GT-8 and money for a new computer. how does the Apex 2 play? i didnt get a chance to play it at the store. i really like the look of it. But the lack of inlays scares me as i am lost without them. ... more
